Day 1 · Prayer & Fasting
Prepare the Heart
Break Up the Fallow Ground
"Break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD."
— Hosea 10:12 (KJV)
Before God fills a barn, He works the soil. Even good, faithful ground gets turned before a new planting season. That's why this season is all about preparation.
God has given us momentum, and we're grateful. But momentum alone won't carry us into a movement. Only surrendered hearts will. Joel says, "Rend your heart, not your garments." God isn't after a performance. He wants all of us. Remember, at the point of salvation, you get all of Jesus; at the point of surrender, He gets all of you.
Your heart is the first barn God builds. Every door He opens lands on the heart you bring to it. Keep it soft, so what He gives takes root in your life.
When hearts are open, a church becomes unstoppable. Hunger and unity are the soil revival grows in, and every one of us gets to cultivate it (Psalm 133:1-3 · Matthew 5:5).
Reflect
- Where has my heart gone hard or cold, and am I cultivating my heart to receive what God has for me?
- What have I been carrying that God never asked me to carry?
- Where is God inviting me to go deeper with Him in 2027?
Call to Action
Get alone with God today. Phone off. Pray Psalm 139:23–24 out loud, then sit quietly and write down whatever He shows you. Don't rush it. Receive it. Whatever He shows you, He's showing you because He's making room for more. Say yes to Him before you say yes to anything else today.
Pick one person in this church family and pray for them. Call, text, or write a note telling them what you see God doing in them and that you're praying for them this week. A church gets its heart ready by building each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
