Prepare the Storehouse
Build Before You Need It
"Through wisdom is a house built; and by understanding it is established."
— Proverbs 24:3 (KJV)
Joseph didn't wait for the famine to start building. He built in the season of plenty. You don't build the barn when the harvest is already in the field. You build it before.
When Moses tried to carry everything alone, Jethro told him it was too much for one man, and the answer was to raise up leaders (Exodus 18). Ephesians 4 says the same: the pastors equip, and you do the work of ministry. Every person who takes ownership of one thing makes room for one more person to be loved.
Your life, your calendar, your finances, and your habits are barns too. Build the systems now, so you're ready for what God wants to pour in.
We're building follow-up so no one gets missed, pathways that grow people into leaders, and teams deep enough that no ministry hangs on one person. People build it by saying yes.
Reflect
- What has God built in me that this house needs?
- What gift has God put in my hands, and where can I put it to work?
- Where is God inviting me to build so He can trust me with more? My schedule, my finances, my time with Him?
Call to Action
Take one real step of ownership today. Not "someday." Today.
Pick one area of your personal life (time with God, finances, schedule, health, or family rhythm). Write down one system you'll put in place for 2027: what you'll do, when you'll do it, and who will hold you to it.
Take one step of ownership in this house.
- Not serving yet? Sign up for a team in the Church Center app. Ushers, café, media, and kids are ready for you.
- Already serving? Invite one person to serve alongside you. Don't just do the work. Duplicate yourself.
- Not in a City Group? Join one this week. Finished Rooted? Pray about taking your next step in growth.
Faithful in little, trusted with much (Luke 16:10).
