Romans 8:18–39

1. Setting the Kingdom Vision (10 min)

Suffering is part of life in a broken world, yet God promises that pain is never wasted in His Kingdom. Jesus meets us in suffering and uses even difficult seasons to shape us, strengthen us, and draw us closer to Him.

“In all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” — Romans 8:28

Discussion:

  • Why can suffering challenge faith?

  • How have you experienced God’s presence in difficulty?

  • What hope does Scripture give during pain?

2. Guide Overview: Hope in Suffering (2 min)

Tonight we’ll reflect on how God redeems pain and sustains us through suffering.

3. Kingdom Practice: Trusting God in Pain (30 min)

Step 1: Read the Passage (5 min)

Read Romans 8:18–39 together.

Step 2: Reflect (5 min)

  • “What burden or struggle am I carrying right now?”

  • “Where do I need to trust God more deeply?”

Step 3: Share and Pray (15 min)

Invite people to share honestly and pray for one another.

Pray:

“Father, strengthen us in suffering and remind us that nothing can separate us from Your love.”

Step 4: Group Reflection (5 min)

  • How can suffering deepen faith and dependence on God?

  • How can we support one another during difficult seasons?

Where have you seen God remain faithful through hardship?

Practice: Trust Through Trials

  • Spend time daily surrendering worries to God.

  • Reach out to encourage someone going through difficulty.

  • Reflect on ways God has been faithful in the past.
